Our computer science and business computing courses are designed to overlap, allowing you to be fluid in your choices and to follow your interests as they develop.

Expert teaching

You’ll benefit from being taught by some of the top computer scientists in the UK. For instance, Zidong Wang, Professor of Dynamic Systems and Computing is currently ranked as the 5th top computer scientist in the country. A number of our academics are also listed as 'best scientists' from the Computer Science discipline on , including Xiaohui Liu, Martin Shepperd and Gheorghita Ghinea.

Quality and rankings

Computer Science at Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ is ranked 3rd in the UK for the performance of our scientific papers (NTU Rankings 2022).​ Our computer science program also ranks 7th in London for post-graduation employment or further study, boasting an average salary of £40,900, which exceeds the national average by £11,000 (LEO Data 2023).

Industry recognised degrees

All our computer science and business computing degrees are accredited by the , . We’re members of the programme. This enables us to offer a range of certifications to add to your degree, and demonstrate the skills needed to be successful across a variety of technical careers. Our Mathematics with Computer Science BSc programme will meet the educational requirements of the Chartered Mathematician designation, when it's followed by subsequent training and experience in employment, to obtain equivalent competences to those specified by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) for taught master's degrees.

Brilliant technical facilities

Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ’s Computer Science department has invested in brand new, dedicated computer labs. It’s here you’ll be taught using the most current specialist software and hardware, and you’ll have the opportunity to gain experience in working with robots.

Strong industry connections to find your placement

As part of your degree course, you’ll have the chance to take a year-long work placement between your second and third year. Our academics and career advisers will support you in finding your perfect paid professional experience, in the UK or abroad. You'll also get help with writing your CV, cover letter, and getting ready for assessments and interviews. They'll also be there for you while you are completing your placement in case you need any support.

Career support

You’ll have the opportunity to showcase your work at our annual Made in Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ Software Innovation event. This will give you a platform to demonstrate your expertise to industry professionals. It may even open doors to gain backing for your product to be developed further and taken to market.

Many of our computing graduates go on to successful careers in a range of different industries, or set up their own businesses. You could begin your career as a key part of the computing team in the manufacturing, service and engineering industries, or in a consultancy company. Our recent graduates have gone on to work for well-known organisations, including Accenture, Toshiba, Microsoft, British Airways, O2, and Barclays. Our career advisers will help and guide you while applying for your first graduate jobs, as well as up to 3 years after your graduation.
The Chartered Institute of IT accreditation means our degree is recognised in organisations around the world, so our graduates don’t have to limit themselves to working in just the UK – they could find themselves landing a role abroad too.

Get ready with a foundation year

If you feel you're not ready yet for degree-level study or you don't have all the qualifications needed, you can choose from two foundation year options: Mathematics and Computing with Integrated Foundation Year or Undergraduate Pathway in Computer Science.
