Tuition fees and deposits

2024/25 Entry

Tuition fees for overseas undergraduate, postgraduate are paid in two instalments each year:

1.            50% of your first year’s course fees are due either before or at the point you register for your course (see your offer email for details)

2.            50% is due at the start of the second term of the course.

Any awarded scholarships and discounts should be deducted before the 50% is calculated. Take a look at our deposit and tuition fee payment page for more information. The university is unable to offer any further extensions to the Instalments offered and you should ensure you have funding to meet the instalment dates.

Once you have been offered a place at Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ, you'll receive an offer email which will list all the conditions of your offer, including details of any deposits or tuition fee payments you'll need to pay. The deposit is part of the initial 50% fee payment. It’s important you pay this deposit or tuition fee payment as soon as possible. We need this commitment to studying at Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ before we’re able to issue you with a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS). In addition, if you’re doing a Pre-sessional English course (PSE) with the Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ Language Centre you’ll need to pay a £1,000 deposit for this before you can be issued with a CAS.

If you're a fully self-funded student and you pay all of your tuition fees by the registration deadline, you are entitled to a 2% discount off the final fee (any fee reduction or scholarships you’re awarded will be deducted first).

Accommodation fees and deposits

If you’ve applied for accommodation on campus, you'll need to accept the contract and pay the £350 deposit after your offer is made unconditional (this is normally once you've met the academic conditions of your offer). The accommodation team will send you an email letting you know when you’ll need to make this payment in order to secure a room, so make sure you keep an eye out for it and check your junk and spam folders regularly.

Sanctioned countries

Students must not make payments to the University from Cuba , Crimea, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Venezuela, Donetsk & Luhansk, nor where source of fund is a sanction country. The University has a legal obligation to comply with international sanctions laws; it is subject to regulations surrounding payments that originate, directly or indirectly, from countries which are subject to sanctions. Students need to ensure that any payments from the sponsors to the University are only for amounts due to the University that do not fall under any UK sanction laws and any additional funds are paid directly to the student.

Update on cash payments

We will not be accepting cash payments for tuition, accommodation or any other charges issued on the account. You should therefore make appropriate arrangements to pay using the alternative payment options below.

If you do bring large amounts of cash onto campus, you will be doing so at your own risk, and the University will not accept any liability for any loss you may suffer as a result. You will not be able to also  deposit the cash into the University bank account at the local HSBC branch due to AML regulations. Cash Deposit can only be made into personal named account and not into a third party account.

 When making card payments online or by phone:

  • Make sure you have sufficient funds in your bank account or that your credit card limit will cover your payment.
  • Contact your bank (for debit cards) or your card issuer (for credit cards) in advance to let them know that you will be making a payment to Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ towards your fees issued. Some card issuers automatically block transactions that don't fit your usual spend pattern or are over a certain amount of money as you may have a daily spend limit.
  • If the online payment system declines your transaction, call your bank or card issuer. They should be able to tell you why it was declined and may be able to authorise your card so that you can try again. If your payment is ringfenced due to 3D Secure check failure the bank would usually return the funds back to your account within 3-5 working days hence please contact your bank directly as the University is not able to assist on this matter. 

Keep away from targeted scams and frauds

Students, generally international are subject to been particularly vulnerable to financial crimes when paying towards their university fees. Please be aware that online and telephone financial fraud is on the rise. Often fraudsters will offer significant discounts, incentives, or attractive exchange rates. Please remember that if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. Tuition and accommodation fees should always be paid directly to Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ. 

You should never provide your personal or banking details to any company or individual that says it offers discounts or preferable exchange rates.

Most common scams to look out for include: 

  • Fee payment scams: use of unknown external third-party agents making a payment on the student’s behalf or FX Bureau agents. You can also be approached by a fraudster and/or another student either in person or via social media. They will offer to provide help to pay forthcoming tuition fees.  The fraudster will initiate the tuition fee payment using a stolen bank, debit/credit details. However, the fraudster is well aware the payment is unlikely to be successful and will disappear before the payment is chargedback when reported by the genuine cardholder with their bank. Another example includes where the fraudster will appear to have made a successful payment by sending you a copy of the receipt showing the full payment made. In reality, all they have done is made a successful payment of an lower amount example £1 / £5 etc using their card or a stolen debit/credit card and then altered the receipt to make it seem like they have made a full tuition fee payment. 
  • Money muling: the ‘money mule’ trap involves students being offered payment in exchange for receiving money temporarily into their bank account. They will then be asked to withdraw the cash to hand over or transfer it on. This type of scam is on the increase, targeting students who are short of cash and may be tempted by offers to make ‘easy money’ on job search or social media websites.

Losing money on tuition fees can have serious consequences on your studies and admission. Money Laundering is a serious criminal offence, and it is treated as such by Law Enforcement. Indirectly, you get involved in that process and there could be an enquiry. Severe impact on your reputation.

Advice for students:

    • Request for a number to call back. Usually, a fraudster will never give out their details. Do not share anything over a phone call . Do not share your bank account number, credit or debit card details, PIN with anyone. Your bank will never ask for full details over the phone, like the PIN. 
    • Avoid sharing any details about your college/ course, University login credentials with anyone, especially on social media with strangers, any third party agent. Fraudsters will offer fee discounts that are not true and pressure you to pay them  claiming the offer is for a short period of time only. Don't be a VICTIM.
    • When in doubt, always contact the University Finance department. Never be pressured by any deadline, threats of retaliation or threats to revoke your student visa if payment is not made. 
    • Never transfers the funds to an unknown third party before confirming with the University in person that receipt provided is legit or not. 
    • Be cautious of unsolicited offers of easy money or discounts. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. There are no discounts on tuition fees offered via our social media channels. Beware of favourable exchange rates provided by unsolicited agents.
    • Do not feel pressurised to transfer the money to an unknown individual. Stay calm, be aware and sceptical of such scams and act accordingly.

If you or your appointed third party is found to have made a fake/fraudulent payment, the University will hold you responsible and take disciplinary actions against you which may result in your de-registration from the course immediately. We strongly advice that payments on your account are either made by yourself or an immediate trust-worthy member of family and not by an unknown third party. The University is not accountable of any financial loss to yourself and you will be asked to settle any charges payable to the University.

How to pay

Transferring money to the UK can be costly, therefore Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ has partnered with one of the largest providers of education fee payments worldwide. Through Flywire you will be able to pay your fees either in your local currency (avoiding having to send the money to the UK) through a secure payment portal, or you can make one off sterling payments.

For all payment methods, you’ll need your student ID number to reference your payment. This is the seven digit number that appears towards the top of all the emails that the Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ admissions team have sent to you. Unfortunately, we’re unable to identify payments received without the relevant reference, which may result in a delay to your application process.

Please note, the time in which it takes for the funds to update in your student account are shown next to each payment method. Once the payment is showing in your student account, our admissions team will then process your payment and send you an email shortly afterwards to confirm receipt of payment and to let you know they’re working on your CAS. At certain times of the year the admissions team gets really busy, so don’t worry if you’ve not heard back right away, it can take up to two weeks for the team to process this.

Options to make secured payment online ( Payments will reflect on your evision account within 2-3 working days)

We understand that students need flexibility when paying their fees, that is why we provide cashless payment options listed below: 

1. Pay on Evision with Flywire

  • Tuition Deposits/Pre-Payments: Applicants can make a tuition deposit /pre payment via their ‘my Applications’ portal in . Clicking the relevant button will allow applicants to view their deposit amount or allow pre-payment.

  • Enrolled students with are encouraged to log into their account to make payment against invoice charges issued on their account. Students will also be directed to make a payment through Flywire during their registration task when enrolling to allow to pay the remainder of the charges due for payment. Alternatively choose option 3 “ Pay Online Now”

Student will be directed to the Flywire Portal that allows them to make payment by debit/credit card, e-wallet in addition to an option for bank transfer in local currency.

2. Pay on the Online Web Portal

  • Payments can be made securely via our by both enrolled students and students wishing to enrol by selecting the relevant options such as deposit, pre-payment against future charges to be issued or  existing invoice charges issued on your account.

Our portal can be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You’ll need your seven digit student ID number to hand when you do this as you’ll be required to enter this in order to make a payment – this can be found near the top of the emails you’ve received from the Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ admissions team. Note payee has to enter all relevant fields manually hence it is important that details entered are correct and against the right Payment selection as this can have an impact on correctly allocating the payment. 

Once you’ve completed all mandatory fields and submitted your payment, you’ll receive a receipt via email. Please check all details are correct.


3. You can also pay your accomodation deposit via our when accepting your accommodation contract.

If you’re having issues in making a payment online, it could be because your bank sees the transfer as unusual activity or there’s a daily limit on your card. If this occurs please contact your bank directly.

You can also make debit/credit card payments over the phone by calling our Income Office. Call us securely on +44 (0) 1895 265264 between 10am to 1pm (UK Time) Monday-Friday (excluding UK bank holidays).

Card payments taken over the phone will update your student account on the next working day.

When calling our Income Office, you’ll need to quote your student ID number (the seven digit number found at the top of all emails from the Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ admissions team) and the reason for your payment, e.g. tuition or accommodation fees. Please note that at certain times of the year the telephone lines gets really busy, hence we encourage students to make payment online and only call if you intend to make a payment over the phone.

Bank transfer 

Bank transfer to Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ should ONLY be made via our payment partner, Flywire. This allows you, your parents and sponsors to pay GBP student fees in the currency of your choice in a simple and secure way.

How To Pay with Flywire:

  1. Simply log into your account and follow instructions on making a payment.
  2. Select the country you are paying from, amount and your preferred choice of Bank Transfer.
  3. Enter our student details, following the payer details.
  4. Review your payment instructions ( including Flywire's bank account details) which get populated automatically once payee details and backup is provided. t yourself or provide details to the payee allowing them to arrange the bank transfer on your behalf.
