Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust serves a population of more than 410,000 people living in the boroughs of Runnymede, Spelthorne, Woking, parts of Elmbridge, Hounslow, Surrey Heath and beyond. The organisation provides a whole range of services across its hospital sites. The majority of planned care, like day case, orthopaedic surgery and rehabilitation services, is provided at Ashford Hospital, with more complex medical and surgical care and emergency services at St. Peter’s Hospital.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you will be a chaperone for professional musicians performing in clinical areas across both St. Peter’s and Ashford Hospital as well as meet and greet volunteers from local schools and community groups performing in the foyer at St. Peter’s Hospital. As a Healing Music Volunteer, you will acquire skills such as
Typical duties include:
- Welcoming musicians and volunteers, orienting them to their designated performance areas
- Coordinating logistics for musicians' performances, ensuring a smooth and timely schedule
- Introducing musicians to the healthcare staff and patients in clinical areas
- Supporting volunteers in their pre-performance preparations and addressing any immediate needs
Please note, this organisation requires a CV, a minimum 6 months commitment for 4 hours per week as well as two references and a DBS check (fully funded).
