Summary
Amy embarked on her career in the Metropolitan Police Service straight from university having achieved a BSc (Hons) Criminology & Forensics (1st) and qualifications in 'Police Law and Community' and the 'Certificate of Knowledge in Policing' in 2013. Amy was privileged enough to serve in many units across the MPS including an East London task force conducting VICE work, fugitive units and managing Registered Sex Offenders where she received a Commendation for her work protecting the public. She continued her career as a Sergeant on the Missing Persons Unit running a number of high-profile investigations and was responsible for finding learning outcomes when a death of a missing person had occurred and worked closely with the Department of Professional Standards to identify fault or potential learning to ensure continued officer growth was achieved. In her last role she pioneered a new unit within Child Protection focusing on contextual harm. Amy is a qualified MH first aider and TRIM practitioner and manager. Amy specialises in trauma, safeguarding and risk management. In August 2022 Amy joined Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ University to teach on the Policing Programme in order to guide and support the future of the Met. Amy has completed and submitted her Fellowship of Advance Higher Education. Shortly after joining Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ, Amy was made Welfare lead, where she leads on welfare support for the policing students. In 2024, was made Deputy Programme lead for the PCDA programme. In August 2024, Amy was successful in her promotion to Senior Lecturer and also now leads on the Marketing for the PCDA programme.
In January Amy led on a multi-agency conference and her work was published in Policing Insights magazine She is also working on future projects.
