Summary
I am a research fellow within the Department of Health Sciences working on the ESRC funded project ‘Socially inclusive ageing: a lifecourse study of new ageing populations. The project is led by Professor Christina Victor and it investigates social health in older adults from minority groups.
I obtained a PhD in Epidemiology and Public Health at University College London. Using data from the English Longitudinal Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ of Ageing (ELSA), my doctoral research examined perceptions of age discrimination among older adults in England and the USA and the relationship between self-perceived age, health and mortality.
After completing my PhD I worked on the ‘Improving the experience of dementia and enhancing active life: The IDEAL study’ (www.idealproject.org.uk). The project aimed to identify what helps people to live well with dementia or when caring for someone with dementia.
