Environmental Sciences inspirational alumni

Our Environmental Sciences graduates go onto great things and they make a difference that really matters.

Carlton Cummins (Sustainability, Entrepreneurship and Design MSc, 2016), is co-founder of Aceleron who created the process to extract value from used lithium ion batteries which provide low cost battery packs for a growing number of emerging markets.

Carlton’s innovative solution to the huge waste management problem created by supposedly ‘dead’ lithium batteries have seen him win a number of accolades including being named one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 European science entrepreneurs and winner of the Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Sankarshan
The research infrastructure at Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ, including the labs at CSEF and ETC, the support to publish open access journal articles and participation in research conferences definitely contributed to me landing a job at Whirlpool.
