Inspirational Games Designer Rosa Carbo-Mascarell
Postgraduate Rosa Carbo-Mascarell named as one of 30 Under 30 who have made an impact on the games industry
Former Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ student Rosa Carbo-Mascarell has been named by Develop, a monthly magazine at the heart of the games industry, as part of their 30 Under 30 list. The list features 30 men and women who are under 30 and who Develop feel have made an impact on the games industry.
Twenty-four year old Rosa graduated from Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ two years ago with an MA Digital Games Theory and Design. Trained as both an architect and a game designer, Rosa works at the Creative Industries Federation levelling up the games industry to high art - developing games and hosting events that bring the games industry and arts world closer together.
Rosa has been shortlisted for and won awards including the MYGEOSS Innovative App Award from the European Commission. She has also been selected as a rising star in the games industry in the BAFTA Guru scheme.
More recently, Rosa won the Campaigner of the Year award by . An award created to "shine a light on women working in a public facing capacity who are encouraging the use of video games as a force for change, inclusion, education and/or improvement".
Rosa came to the MA programme eager to learn about the theory and design of digital games. She immersed herself in studying and making games, was an active part of her cohort, and became a regular part of the local games community. Since graduating, she has shared her experiences of the course with incoming students and her successes are an attestation to her curiosity, creativity, drive, and determination.
