You’ll benefit from our small, friendly department where you will be taught by academic specialists who are internationally recognised and who have their own distinct teaching style. As well as lectures you’ll be taught in group seminars and personal tutorials allowing you to learn in smaller groups and in one-to-one discussion.
Students of all of our undergraduate history courses will be assigned a personal tutor throughout their time here. Your personal tutor will be there to guide and advise you throughout your degree, and will help you to reach your full potential.

You’ll have the opportunity to acquire further employability skills through undertaking a certificate in Journalism (at Level 1), a diploma in Journalism (at Level 2), and a social media internship within Politics and History.

On-campus opportunities
As a History student you will benefit from having access to the Special Collections in the Library and the Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ Archives in the Old School House. History academics actively encourage students to visit these in their first and second year so that they are familiar with how to use these resources when it comes to researching and writing their dissertation. This helps you gain invaluable skills in recovering and interpreting historical evidence, formulating arguments and developing your own historical perspectives.
History and our proximity to central London
Locally you’ll benefit from a variety of trips such as visiting a local graveyard where you will discover a headstone from the holocaust, and a visit to the Battle of Britain Bunker will be applied to your studies. Being close to central London, you will have access world-class museums, collections and the renowned British Library to help with your academic studies.
Learn a new language
At Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ we offer you the opportunity to learn a new language, allowing you to expand your communication skills, to gain insight into other cultures, and will prepare you for study abroad if you opt for it. You can choose from nine different languages; Modern Standard Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
