How much can I borrow?

In accordance with US regulations, the total of a student’s US Direct Loans any loans plus any additional funding (awards, scholarships etc.) must not exceed the yearly Cost of Attendance (COA). Please refer to Cost of Attendance section for the total applicable COA.

Types of US Direct Loan

  • are loans made to eligible undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need to help cover the costs of higher education at a college or career school.
  • are loans made to eligible undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, but eligibility is not based on financial need.
  •  the US Department of Education makes Direct Plus Loans to eligible parents and graduate or professional students through schools participating in the Direct Loan Program.
  •  are Direct Plus Loans that eligible parents of dependent undergraduate students (who are under 24 years of age) can use to help pay for college or career school. The U.S. Department of Education makes Direct PlusLoans to eligible parents through schools participating in the Direct Loan Program.

How much can I borrow?

How much you can borrow depends on whether you’re an undergraduate student, a graduate or professional student, or a parent.

  • If you are an undergraduate student, the maximum amount you can borrow each year in Direct Subsidised Loans and Direct Unsubsidised Loans ranges from $5,500 to $12,500 per year, depending on what year you are in school and your dependency status.
  • If you are a graduate or professional student, you can borrow up to $20,500 each year in Direct Unsubsidised Loans. Direct Plus Loans can also be used for the remainder of your college costs, as determined by your school, not covered by other financial aid.
  • If you are a parent of a dependent undergraduate student, you can receive a Direct Plus Loan for the remainder of your child’s college costs, as determined by his or her school, not covered by other financial aid (this is commonly referred to as a Parent Plus Loan).

Entry Clearance

To secure a Visa to study at Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ prospective students are required to provide proof of sufficient funds to support themselves for tuition and living expenses.

Once a prospective student has applied for and been accepted to access US Direct Loans, and agreed to the Cost of Attendance provided by us, we can issue an official award letter which you can use as evidence to support your Visa application.
