Highlights:

Expert Speakers:

o Zara Clench: Zara will discuss her research on university experiences for care-experienced students, shedding light on existing support systems and effective practices.

o Chris Wild: Chris advocates for making care experience a protected characteristic. He will share insights from his own care journey and his role as a care home consultant.

o David Akinsanya: David’s personal experiences within the care system have fueled his commitment to change. He’ll explore the challenges faced by campaigners and the need for systemic improvements.

o Rebekah Pierre: Free Loaves on Fridays: Language that cares - learning from 100 care-experienced perspectives.

o Keeley Stephenson: From Abandonment to Abundance.

Delivery Format:

The event will be delivered both in person at Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ’s Conference Centre and virtually. Join us from wherever you are! Curated and Organized by Dawn Harker. This conference is curated and organized by Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ University’s social work student, Dawn Harker, who herself is care experienced. Her unique perspective adds depth and authenticity to our discussions.

This conference will interest care professionals including social workers, educators, and people with lived experience of the care-system.

Join us for a day of meaningful dialogue, collaboration, and empowerment. Let’s bridge the gap between professionals and care-experienced voices.
