Abbas is a Lecturer at the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences at Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ. His current placement is at Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ London School at NCUT in Beijing, China.Before joining Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ, he was an Assistant Professor in Geotechnical Engineering at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan from September 2020 to August 2024. He received his PhD in Civil Engineering from the Tsinghua University in July 2020. He also holds two degrees, BEng in Civil Engineering and MEng in Disaster Mitigation & Reconstruction Engineering awarded in 2011 and 2014, respectively, both from NUST, Islamabad, Pakistan.

Abbas's research interests include soil dynamics and constitutive modelling of soil, seismic hazard analysis, AI based geomechanics and soil liquefaction. He is an active young researcher with publications in several high-impact journals. Abbas has a strong background knowledge in geotechnical engineering and numerical modelling and has served as technical consultant in several national and international projects. He is also capable of developing user-defined 2D/3D numerical codes to study linear and nonlinear mechanical behavior of soils.
