Research area(s)

My research combines experimental and computational (computational fluid dynamics, and dynamic process modelling) approaches to developing innovative solutions to advance low-carbon energy systems. A major focus of my research is to apply fundamentals of multiphase flow, thermofluid, thermochemical, and reactive transport to:

  • Fluid mechanics, turbulence, and combustion modelling: Using applied mathematics to either improve or develop new algorithms, methods, and governing equations for the fluids in complex geometries, the experimentation and test rig setup for model validation, and process intensification for energy storage and efficiency.
  • Process design for carbon capture utilisation and storage (CCUS): Process design, PFD generation, Front end engineering analysis, and technoeconomic analysis of carbon capture technologies and sustainable renewable fuel for industrial carbon dioxide removal, biogas upgrading, hydrogen purification, direct air capture, and sustainable fuel production.
  • Artificial intelligence and intelligent analysis of sustainable systems: Application of artificial intelligence and deep learning in the body of established equations for parameter estimation and model improvement or prediction of complex industrial systems, chemical reactions, and stochastic nature of the fluid in transition.
