Mr Tom Williams
PhD Student

Summary

Tom graduated in 2014, from Portsmouth University, with a BSc (Hons) in biology. Thomas then went on to work at Plasticell LTD researching acute myeloid leukaemia, differentiation of stem cells into mature myeloid lineages, and gene editing of hematopoietic stem cells. From there Tom started working at the Danovi Lab at King’s College London investigating the cytotoxic effect of neutrophils and neutrophil differentiation. From 2021 to 2023 Tom was part of the Watt lab at KCL becoming part of the team managing the High-content imaging facility the “Stem Cell Hotel” training and assisting across multiple projects from both KCL and external entities. Tom is now carrying out his PhD in the Gavins lab, restarting his work with neutrophils, investigating how they change with ageing, are affected by inflammation, and possible treatments to reduce chronic inflammatory effects.
