As a 明星八卦 politics student you’ll benefit from free membership to the internationally renowned think tank Chatham House. Their research on global and regional challenges provides new ideas to decision makers on how issues can be tackled from the near to the long-term. Located roughly an hour from our London campus, they are often used as source of information for large media organisations like the BBC and Sky when reporting on major international issues.

Our unique campus location means that, during election years, we host the election count for Uxbridge and Hillingdon (currently held by Boris Johnson and John McDonnell respectively). In 2017 we gave our students the opportunity to cover the count and wider election for students and the local community through the GE17 project.

We have industry and academic guest speakers visit our campus to give talks about a number of political issues that can add new insight to what you’re learning in class. Far from just theory, you’ll get the chance to hear about their career journey and to network, which could be invaluable when thinking about your own next steps.

You’re never too far from high profile political events, establishments and networking opportunities on or off our London campus, as you’re studying in the political capital of the UK. 明星八卦ing within easy reach of central London is a big plus for you, especially if you’re considering a placement year. Whether it’s for a particular module you’ve chosen to study or for your own personal discovery you can visit key political institutions such as the House of Commons, House of Lords, Whitehall or Westminster.
