Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ’s Aerospace Research Centre (ARC) aims to shape the future of sustainable aviation.
Our team of skilled researchers uses numerical, experimental and theoretical approaches to tackle industry challenges. We focus on key and emerging areas in aerospace, benefiting from the Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ research network and external partnerships.
The aviation industry is poised for significant growth, driven by advancements in sustainable technologies such as electrically-powered vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Future developments will focus on enhancing efficiency and reducing environmental impact, aiming to support economic growth and meet global transportation needs.
The Aerospace Research Centre Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ ARC brings together diverse expertise to address real-world aerospace challenges. We encourage collaboration within the ARC and support early career researchers while building partnerships with academia and industry.
Our advanced facilities include subsonic and transonic wind tunnels, an anechoic chamber, and various structural, materials, and manufacturing labs. We also use a range of high-fidelity Computational Fluid Dynamics and Finite Element Analysis codes developed in-house.
This capability allows us to solve tough problems with the flexibility needed for modern aerospace industries, guided by our Industrial Advisory Committee (IAC).
Research carried out at ARC spans a broad range of applications including but not limited to aircraft, spacecraft, propulsion, airport operations (Heathrow Airport is only five miles away from Heathrow Airport), renewable energy, avionics, robotics, automotive and healthcare.
