About us

This interdisciplinary group brings together researchers interested in the human body, not from a medical or anatomical perspective primarily, but from a range of other perspectives including the psychological, sociological and artistic-cultural. Members of the group perceive bodies as not just containers for the brain, but as the meeting point of the psychological, the sociological, the cultural and the biological.

The group will bring together scholars from a wide range of disciplines including social work, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, sociology, education, anthropology, drama and performance, design, computer programming and more. The advent of the Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ Medical School will provide further opportunities for growing the research group.

The group responds directly to two of Ã÷ÐÇ°ËØÔ’s five strategic challenge areas, focusing on health and communities, as well as contributing to digital futures for health, social care and human services.
