AACN Deans Annual Meeting to Attract Record Attendance

听

Record attendance will be set as more than听400 AACN member deans/directors听arrive in Washington, DC this week for the听, March 24-27. Open exclusively to AACN Member Deans, this prestigious meeting (formerly known as the Spring Annual Meeting) connects members with noted thought leaders to discuss key organizational, funding, and legislative challenges and opportunities impacting nursing education. This year鈥檚 theme is听A Disruptive Innovation: Time Variable Competency-Based Education.听

The meeting will be highlighted by the presentation of the Geraldine 鈥淧olly鈥� Bednash Lectureship Award to Dr. David Garr, Associate Dean for Community Medicine, Professor of Family Medicine, and Executive Director, South Carolina AHEC, Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Garr will be honored for his work to advance interprofessional education and practice.听

Preceding the Deans Annual Meeting will be the听, which is designed for new and aspiring leaders as well as for faculty members who wish to improve their leadership skills for a variety of positions within the academic setting. The Executive Development Series will take place March 23-24.听
